The long wait isn’t over yet - new info says the Nokia N8 will start shipping in late September, at least for those who pre-ordered. In the mean time, the Nokia E7 popped up, reportedly going official as soon as next week.

The Nokia N8 has been on a handful of sites for pre-order, each site citing a different launch date. Some of those dates flew through with no N8 in sight, other dates are always a couple of weeks ahead.

The end just might be in sight though - a Finnish site spoke to Nokia’s Senior Communications Manager who said that Nokia N8 pre-orders will shipping September 30. He also said that the N8 will cost 499 euros - since we’ve seen different prices for different countries, that shipping date might be for Finland only.

Still, the Nokia World event is fast approaching (it’s on September 14 and 15) - there Nokia is expected to unveil the Nokia E7. The E7 is a Symbian^3 phone with a slide out QWERTY and got leaked a few times, with speculation that it’s the Nokia N9.

Nokia E7 photos

Well, it’s not the N9, but the specs still seem quite impressive - a 4″ touchscreen (probably nHD), 3G, Wi-Fi, 8MP camera with dual LED flash and an HDMI port. If these specs pan out, the Nokia E7 should sit somewhere between the Nokia C7 (which has a smaller screen and no QWERTY) and the Nokia N9 (which touts an aluminum body and MeeGo). The Nokia E7 specs are unconfirmed, but that should change next week.

T-Mobile is losing its exclusivity for iPhone in Germany. As a result two more operators, O2 and Vodafone, will start selling Apple’s phone as soon as the negotiations are finalized.

While all carriers are selling older iPhones models, the latest iPhone 4 is exclusive to T-Mobile DE. Currently, its price starts from 1 euro when purchased together with a 2-year contract.

T-Mobile Germany has already sold good 1.9 million iPhones across the country despite the delayed iPhone 4 shipments (some customers had to wait 9 weeks for the coveted device).

The latest rumor is T-Mobile is about to lose its exclusivity for Apple’s toy in Germany in October, which will allow the other two companies to get in on the action. There is no word from either of the companies yet but according to the WSJ the negotiations are in an advanced stage.

It’s not like we haven’t seen this scenario: last year the same thing happened to O2 UK who lost its iPhone exclusivity in the UK weeks just before the holiday season and Vodafone and Orange were allowed to join the game.

Nokia are obviously not doing a great job preventing those leaks as another of their handsets has been previewed well-ahead of its official announcement. This time it’s the Nokia C7 and even though the preview doesn’t give us all the details it gets clear that the C7 is a slightly trimmed-down Nokia N8, coming at a lower price.

Nokia C7 gets previewed

Despite his history of legal issues with Nokia, Eldar Murtazin from mobile-review.com posted a preview of the Nokia C7. The handset obviously takes the N8 base, but uses a cheaper body (plastic rather than anodized aluminum) and cuts down a few features . The major cut is the camera - 8MP and LED flash vs. the 12MP camera with xenon flash on the N8.

HDMI is also gone and the internal memory has been halved to 8GB. The rest of it is the same - 3.5″ nHD AMOLED, 680MHz CPU, 256MB RAM, 1200mAh Li-Ion battery and of course Symbian^3. The Nokia C7 also supports the latest local wireless connectivity - Wi-Fi b/g/n and Bluetooth 3.0 (which hit 10Mbit/s during testing).

The camera has been downsized to 8MP

Eldar Murtazin estimates that the Nokia C7 will be available in mid-October or November for 350 euro (based on the announced 370 euro price of the N8 with actual prices of around 450 euro for pre-order).

GoldVish’s Le Million Piece Unique isn’t the only mobile phone with a seven digit price tag out there anymore. It has just been joined by the Gresso Luxor Las Vegas Jackpot, which matches its price tag of 1 million US dollars.

Gresso is known for its incredibly expensive handsets but today the company reached a whole new level by announcing the Luxor Las Vegas Jackpot. And it is a jackpot alright: the phone is priced at 1 000 000 US dollars and only three units of it will be produced (each with a number engraved on its back). Just like Le Million which was announced several years ago.

Gresso Luxor Las Vegas Jackpot • Gresso Luxor Las Vegas • GoldVish Le Million Piece Unique

What makes it so expensive are the black diamonds (totaling the whooping 45.5 K) covering its front while and the 200-year old African blackwood used for its back. And that 12-mm thin frame is made of 180 grams of gold.

The Gresso Luxor Las Vegas Jackpot keypad consists of 17 manually polished and laser etched sapphires weighing 32 K.

If you can’t afford the Las Vegas Jackpot (and let’s face it - you can’t) there is a cheaper alternative that you might want to consider. Enter the second Gresso announcement for today - the Gresso Luxor Las Vegas. Made of solid gold and some 200-year old African blackwood, it gets rid of all the diamonds and brings the price down to “only” 20 000 US dollars.

The Gresso Las Vegas collection will become available by the end of the month.

Heavy texters will be glad to see the Samsung A927 Flight II hardware four-row side-slide QWERTY keyboard. In addition, the newbie also packs a 3-inch touchscreen of WQVGA resolution (240 x 400 pixels).

Also on board there is a 2-megapixel fixed-focus snapper which is capable of taking videos as well and a standard 3.5mm audio jack ready to accommodate your favorite headphones’ plug. Thanks to the microSD card slot you can expand the inbuilt memory (of 512MB) with up to 16GB.

The phone is said to support AT&T’s Mobile TV service and on top of that you get quick access to some of the most popular social networking services (such as Facebook and Twitter).

T-Mobile breaks loose

Anyways, it could be the blurry pictures alright, so let’s not pass anymore judgment before we see some better shots.

Update: Some more pictures of the T-Mobile G2 are available. Note that the screen doesn’t tilt, what you see in the picture is a broken sliding mechanism.

More photos of the T-Mobile G2

Obviously the smartphone is simply the US version of the rumored HTC Vision, as was rumored before. We’ll keep our eyes and ears open for new details.

The first Symbian^3-powered device, Nokia N8, was first said to start selling in August but it seems that the phone has actually been pushed back a month. But the good news is if you happen to live in Italy and want to be among the first owners of the smartphone, you can pre-order it right away.

To refresh your memory, Nokia N8 isn’t only the first Symbian^3-running smartphone but also the only (so far) Nokia device to come with a (pretty good) 12-megapixel snapper on board. On top of that it also features an anodized aluminum casing, a 3.5-inch capacitive touchscreen as well as a 680MHz processor, HDMI port and a video player with DivX/XviD support.

The N8 was said to start shipping on 24 August but, apparently, the device needs some extra touches and will arrive by the end of September 2010. If you want to pre-order it, just follow that link. It only takes a few clicks and 469 euro.

The price is a bit higher than the 370 euro Nokia talked about at the announcement event (it adds up to 444 euro when VAT is included). We do believe that this will be fixed a few weeks after the phone actually hits the shelves though.

It’s been a few weeks since we last heard of the QWERTY-packing HTC Vision Android phone, but new rumors have surfaced. The latest gossip says the Vision is heading for T-Mobile and a potential market name.

We first encountered the HTC Vision back in May when it became clear that it will have a 480×800 pixels screen, which we later found out to be 3.7″ big. The other details that came up earlier this month name-dropped Android 2.1 Eclair running on a 1GHz CPU.

Now the new rumors peg the HTC Vision as a T-Mobile device, though they don’t specify which T-Mobile (T-Mobile USA? A European T-Mobile?). A clue is provided by a bit of old gossip - that the HTC Vision will hit the UK in October.

Anyway, the HTC Vision could (rumor has it) change its name to G1 Blaze - an allusion to the first Android phone to hit the market, the T-Mobile G1. For some reason HTC hasn’t produced many phones with Android and QWERTY since the G1.

As with anything you hear from rumor-land, this batch of rumors should be taken with a pinch of salt, there’s nothing official from HTC yet.

The Samsung I5800 Galaxy 3 was announced a good one month ago and apparently it is almost ready to start shipping across Germany. The Android-running phone is said to hit the German market by the end of this very month.

The recently announced Samsung I5800 Galaxy 3 paid us a short visit a little while ago. The device is based on the Android platform (Android OS v2.1 a.k.a. Eclair) and packs a 3.2″ capacitive touchscreen of WQVGA resolution.

Here’s they come, the Galaxy S phones. AT&T just announced pricing and target availability for their version, the Samsung i897 Captivate, and it will beat the T-Mobile version by a few days and will probably become the first Galaxy S to hit the US.

The Samsung i897 Captivate is going on sale next Sunday, July 18 and it will cost 199.99 US dollars on a two year contract. Looks aside, the Captivate is an exact duplicate of the Samsung I9000 Galaxy S (with AT&T 3G bands of course).

To summarize the specs, the Android-running Samsung Captivate has a 4″ WVGA SuperAMOLED touchscreen, 1GHz CPU and 5MP camera with 720p video recording.

The T-Mobile Galaxy S phone, the Samsung Vibrant is coming a few days later - July 21, again for 199.99 US dollars. And CDMA carriers are getting a Galaxy S too (like the Sprint Epic 4G which has a hardware QWERTY), though we don’t have the availability dates yet.
